From the first previews, I was convinced Juno would be my favorite movie of the year. And I really enjoyed it, although by the time I finally saw the movie it almost felt like deja vu. As with many movies, the best lines had already been repeating on my television for weeks. What surprised me is that tonight, Lars and the Real Girl took that favorite movie spot. It's been a long time since I saw such an endearing movie. And it had a level of symbolism, care, and detail that I wasn't expecting. It's funny and sweet and just a surprisingly good film. I highly recommend it.

just saw Lars and the Real Girl, had never even heard of the movie before last night, Ryan Gosling did a great job playing out his character's psychological transition from totally dysfunctional to somewhat functional

hey. I saw the first part of Juno on a short airplane flight home from Toronto. I was intrigued to see more since parts of it had been funny but the conservative Christian overtones were bugging me (I mean, you're 16!!! GET AN ABORTION! the baby having fingernails wasn't really a convincing argument for her to change her mind, in my opinion - it was a little contrived). So I was curious to see the rest of the movie. It was entertaining, yes. But the would be adoptive father was creepy, and I don't know... I felt like the message was...if you get pregnant, you're life will be totally ok, you will find adoptive parents easily and everything will work out great. THAT'S NOT REALITY.
I have lars and the real girl on my netflix queue and i may bump it up to the top based on your review.
